- Priapism
- Penile laceration
- Penile fracture
Contraindications
- Infection overlying injection site
- Allergy to local anesthetic
Equipment
- 5-10cc of local anesthetic of choice
- 27G needle
- Cleansing solution
Technique
- Position patient supine
- Insert needle at 2- and 10-o’clock positions at base of penis for dorsal nerve block
- Alternatively, inject anesthetic in complete ring around base of penis for complete block
